Terms of service
Last updated: October 7, 2026Deutsche Fassung
This is an English translation for convenience. Only the German version is legally binding.
Draft for the closed beta. It will be reviewed by a lawyer before the public launch.
1. Provider and scope
Koppel is operated by Studio Treo – Tobias Affüpper (Feldstraße 12, 40721 Hilden, Germany) (“we”). These terms apply to the dashboard, the API, the CDN and the editor extension. Koppel is aimed at businesses and freelancers (§ 14 German Civil Code), not at consumers.
2. Beta
Koppel is in a closed beta. Using it is free. Features may change, fail or be removed. We make no commitment regarding availability. We will tell you at least 30 days in advance before the beta ends or becomes paid. You can cancel at any time by deleting your account.
3. Your code
- The code you upload remains yours. You only grant us the rights we need to store and deliver it.
- Delivered code is publicly accessible. Don’t put credentials, keys or personal data in it.
- You are responsible for the content and effect of the code on your website, including towards your website’s visitors.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use Koppel to deliver code that
- contains malware, exploits vulnerabilities or misuses visitors’ devices (e.g. crypto mining),
- captures login or payment data or is used for phishing,
- tracks visitors without the required consent or passes data on to third parties,
- runs on websites you are not authorized to use,
- violates applicable law or the rights of third parties.
Koppel is not a general file host. Excessive use of storage or bandwidth, for example serving large libraries for other projects, is not allowed. Your plan’s limits apply.
5. Suspension
If we have reasonable grounds to suspect a violation of section 4, we may suspend delivery for a project or a workspace immediately. Your website keeps working without the Koppel code, and your files remain readable. We will inform you by email and lift the suspension if the suspicion is not confirmed.
6. Account and security
Keep access to your email address and your devices secure. We confirm changes to production by email. If you didn’t make a change yourself, restore production in the dashboard and contact us.
7. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence and injury to life, body or health. For slightly negligent breaches of essential contractual obligations, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Otherwise, liability is excluded during the free beta to the extent permitted by law. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.
8. Reporting security issues
If you find a security vulnerability, write to security@treo.studio. Only test with your own accounts and projects, don’t access other people’s data, and give us time to fix the issue before you publish it. We will not take legal action against reports made in good faith.
9. Privacy and data processing
How we handle data is described in the privacy policy. Data of your websites’ visitors is covered by our data processing agreement, which you enter into by using Koppel.
10. Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Place of jurisdiction is Hilden, Germany, to the extent permitted by law. We may change these terms with 30 days’ notice by email. If you don’t object, they are deemed accepted; we point out this consequence in the email.
